Apparently, to the people watching the news outside of GA about Atlanta's ice storm, we were so socked in that people couldn't leave their homes and the grocery stores had completely run out of supplies. This was not exactly true. Driving was treacherous but not impossible. On Saturday I didn't really have any problems - even made it out to meet friends for breakfast and the grocery store after that. On Sunday a tree in my neighborhood gave up the fight and collapsed on some power lines - knocking out my heat. Apparently, even though my heat is gas powered, the blower is electric and therefore completely vulnerable to falling trees several blocks away.
Sunday evening I met with Paul Lockwood and went out to Wild Wings Cafe for dinner. We split 50 wings between us - 10 each of the 5 hottest kinds they make. Some of those really were hot! I spent part of the evening and part of this morning paying for that! I'd probably do it again though. I'm not one to learn my lessons easily!
