2009 Global MVP Summit and SharePoint team interactions
First – I’m not going to be breaking the NDA I signed which enabled me to attend this event – you won’t be learning about any specific details about Office 14 from me in this blog entry.
What I did want to convey was my general impression of excitement. What I saw in the past few days from the SharePoint and Office client teams left me really looking forward to the future. What I saw will propel SharePoint even further into the enterprise with features that make it easier to understand and easier to work with. There are so many great new things that I wish I could talk about that it’s going to be difficult for me to focus on the 2007 version (at least mentally) for a while.
Another takeaway from the MVP Summit is the Microsoft commitment to web technology in general. To that end, there is a strong recommendation that everyone try out the Release Candidate of Internet Explorer 8. The new release is supposed to be much faster and way cooler. I’ll be testing it myself as I’ve not downloaded it before now.
More to come…
