A rare gripe about Xbox Live
I tried playing Call of Duty 2 online last night and had some fun with the Headquarters game. When the game ended, however, I was unable to sign back into any of the CoD game lobbies - the server was full.
WTF!?! Someone has fallen down in capacity planning if the best selling game on the brand new, still can't find it in stores b/c it's being snapped up too rapidly, console doesn't have adequate capacity for online players when the mantra of the new console is "Everything works online". That doesn't leave me with good feelings when it comes to the future, when everyone who wants an Xbox 360 has one and wants to play online.
PS - Activision (people who made CoD2), you guys need to work on your online games' lobbies. There is no way to fill a game with your friends, only random strangers. I hope you guys put out a patch for this and get us something better than this entirely random game generation engine.
PPS - Looks like I'm not the only one with this gripe.
InfinityWard - the studio actually responsible for creating the game (Activision apparently just markets the game) is preparing to release a patch for Xbox360 which does the following:
1. Player Lag has been addressed
2. Private Game Lobbies / Reserved Slots
3. Enable Live Host to set custom game options
4. Map Preferences setting
5. Post Game Lobbies (players at end of match will return to lobby)
6. Enemy Player Name Notification
7. Kick Player (host ability)
8. Lobby Game Type, Map and Host Notification
